Meet Michelle and Dakoda
“The emotional rollercoaster I’m on is intense.”
Michelle’s daughter Dakoda was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia at the age of three and was in surgery just days later. Michelle had to give up her job as a nurse, which was very tough financially on the family; she also had to juggle looking after her two other children and connecting with husband Garry, whilst caring for Dakoda.
“The impact of cancer is huge. It becomes a full-time job”, says Michelle. “The emotional rollercoaster I’m on is intense – there’s anger, hate and many ‘Oh no!’ moments.”
Redkite started supporting Michelle during her hospital visits; she’s planning to join our Coffee Club “because being able to connect with other people that understand what we’re going through as a family is really important.”

Is there an age limit for taking part?
No. Anyone can take part but if you are under 18 you'll need to get your parents consent.
What will the money I raise be used for?
The money raised through Hairless Heroes Challenge will ensure that Redkite can continue to give families the strength they need to face childhood cancer.
